Mobile Games Part 1

There was time when mobiles were only considered for oral communication and a little bit of text messaging.

It's been long since mobile telephony has way beyond exceeded our expectations, technology has spearheaded this amazing path where a mobile phone is much more than what it was a decade ago.

As a matter of fact more people are using their phones or as well call it today smart phones for all other purposes other than talking to people! , Well this may be a little bit of exaggeration.

But surely we must all agree, our percentage time spent on our mobiles is more for non primary purpose. Numerous mobile applications are available for free which can be used for a variety of purposes for a user, more importantly they provide instantaneous benefit (info, games, movie tickets, watch videos) etc making it a deadly combination.

Since inception of mankind, games have been played in some form or the other. Now mobiles provide one the best platform to play any kind of games. Weather its static (stand alone games built inside phones ) or dynamic (games which are connected to the internet ) the options are practically unlimited.

Today smart devices come with high resolution touch screen with a truly responsive touch experience, most of them sculpted and placed to deliver precision functionality. All these make the playing experience interactive, personal and its mobile, it can be played anywhere, while travelling, waiting for someone etc.

The key thing to note is will mobile games supersede web games, or they will co-exist. Can mobile games be commercialised to a level where currently most web games are? Will the involvement of people in mobile games reach a level making web games irrelevant.

These are all valid questions which would have conflicting answers, but no one can deny that mobile devices in any form like tabs, ipad, etc would be next gen next technology focus area.
